Wooden Bulb by Barend Hemmes

Posted: 30 Jun 2011 06:01 AM PDT

Well, wooden bulb is not actually wooden. Designed by Barend Hemmes, this clever lamp is shaped like a giant light-bulb and houses a real light-bulb inside. Made from laser cut wood, which leaves a crisp burned edge and creates a satisfying, waffle-like glow. Either hung from the ceiling or laid on its side, the Wooden Bulb will add a little tongue-in-cheek humor - as well as light - to any room.

Personally, I love the effect & ambient created when a group of Wooden bulbs hang together, some higher some lower. The bulbs are almost as expressive as their shadows.

Last Last Saturday

After family and I visited the cemetery on June 18th to go see our grandma's grave, we didn't feel like going home, so since we were in the Glendale area, we decided to walk around and check out some stores. :)

GUESS store
Loooove the model, she is sooo beautiful and love what she is wearing.

H&M was having  SAAALE!!! UGHH!! I found the PERFECT BLACK SUNNIES, but one of the lenses were MISSING!! :((  I WAS REALLLY SAD!  I LOOVED THEM, AND WENT WELL WITH MY FACE! I looked for another pair, and nope, that was the ONLY PAIR!!! :(((  Why is that, when I find a item I have been searching for the longest, that item has SOMETHING WRONG WITH IT! >.< WHY?! UGH!  I have to check out another H&M store close by me, hopefully I'll find the sunnies there! :)
*crosses fingers*

I didn't get a chance to take some street style pics, I was so bummed out, because there were a lot of girls with nice outfits/style, so instead, I took these pics. It's not all that great, but it's sort of something.

That is where my nana is buried, at the top of the hill, where the white cross is in the air. Family and I will be visiting her soon <3

When we left Glendale, Anna, wanted to go for ice cream, and she saw the Blizz Frozen Yogart place, and we decided to just go there. It was our first time there, and OH MY GOD!!! THEY LET YOU HAVE SAMPLES BEFORE CHOOSING! NICE! LOL. Sadly though....the CHOCOLATE WAS GONE! -.- I LOOOVE CHOCOLATE, and I always go for CHOCOLATE! I CAN'T CHEAT ON IT! LOL :D So I tried some flavours, and LOOVED the peanut butter and CREME BRULEE!!!  I am such a bore, I went with peanut butter, I later found out, that it was a BAD CHOICE :(, because I put too much of peanut butter, and didn't think, of mixing half of peanut butter and half of creme brulee in my lil carton bowl. The peanut butter flav got a little too much later on, of eating so much of it. :(   Darn, next time, I'll go for creme brulee. :D

I call this : COLORFUL CIRCUS!

Why? Because I put in- Sour Gummy Worms  <3
                          Animal Crackers
                     SPRINKLES
                              Mini gummy bears
                                                  Cookie Dough (the BOMB!<3)
                          Chocolate Chips

Every topping I saw, I added to my frozen yogart I just went a little out of control lol, but was able to stop myself, because, oh my....I wanted to go for MORE TOPPINGS! LOL. I even saw MARSHMALLOW SAUCE!!!! Oh mmmmmmmmm! I never tried marshmallow sauce, but I can only imagine how good it tastes! :D I will soooo try that next time!

Anna's is called: Tutti Fruity!

She had Creme brulee, and put in: Strawberries
                                                   Blackberries
                                          Mochi
                                                            Mini Gummy Bears
                                             Sprinkles

*All photo's were taken by me, except the last pic, Anna took*

Midsummer Night's Dream over Poland

Posted: 28 Jun 2011 09:12 AM PDT

There was definitely magic in the air on the night above Poznan, central Poland on June 21, where eager crowds released 8,000 paper lanterns into the night sky to celebrate the shortest night of the year, known as Midsummer Night or St John's Night.

Thousands of people gathered on a field in the city after the event was advertised through Facebook by Culture Pozanski.

They bought the lantern from dozen of stores that were set up at the event. By 22.30pm, around 1,000 lanterns were released into the sky. Within an hour some 8,000 had been released. The lanterns began to resemble twinkling stars and everybody was suitaby impressed. It was an incredible atmosphere watching the stars soar to heaven.

The event smashed the Polish record for the largest number of lanterns released on one time. Organisers now plan to beat the Guiness world record at the same event next year.

The Anniversary of Michael Jackson

In memory of Michael Jackson we had taken some pictures on July 4th 2009, while dropping by to show our love and respect to our favorite one-of-a-kind musician/icon/god. at  Ms.Jackson's family home, in Hayvenhurst Ave. in Encino, California. There was a public holding of fans dropping by leaving homemade art of their idol Michael Jackson and showing their love with love notes and flowers placed in front of the Jackson Family home.

I apologize for the awful videos due to the big crowds, so I just tried to capture what I could.

WE MISS YOU MICHAEL JACKSON!!

Last Thursdy's Outfit

This is the outfit I wore to the pre-funeral of my nana, last Thursday. I didn't have a chance to take pics of my outfit, so the other day I quickly drew myself wearing the outfit. :)

What I Wore:
Top- GAP
Draped Vest- The Clothing Market
Skirt- H&M
Tights- I have no idea, my mom got it from some store
Belt- Vintage, my mom's.
Bag- H&M
Shoes- Sam Edelman

When I came home, my mom started doing the laundry, and needed my tops to wash, so I can wear them again to the funeral the next day. She gave me my dad's old pj shirt, that he doesn't wear anymore, and I knotted the shirt, because it was obviously loose and big on me. I looked in the mirror, and LIKED WHAT I SAW! LOL. The shirt went pretty well with the pencil skirt, liked that the top was loose and the skirt was fitted. My mom and twin sister even liked the look, and Anna said, that this look,  looked better than what I actually wore to the pre-funeral! LOL. So I decided to take some pics. :)
A loose top and a fitted pencil skirt, can do wonders. :D lol

Love this pic, it's a trip out. :D

Frédérique Morrel's Tapestry & Needlework Sculptures

Posted: 23 Jun 2011 09:19 AM PDT

French designer Frederique Morrel creates these cool and unique tapestry deer sculptures using polyurethane taxidermy molds, covered in vintage needlework and finished with real antlers. Inspired by the tragic sight of her grandmother's needlepoint accidentally being thrown away after her passing,Morrel was inspired to launch a line of products based upon vintage, recycled needlepoint. Once you get over the initial shock and kitsch of these colourful pieces, you realize upon closer examination that each tells a story thanks to the idealized scenes of life -- animals, nudes, hunters, flowers and more -- pieced together by the artist.
